5 things to prepare before the assembler arrives

A little preparation makes the visit faster, cheaper and safer. Here is the short list I send clients before I arrive.

1. Clear the space

Leave at least 1.5 metres of free floor around where the furniture will stand. Assembly needs room to lay out panels.

2. Keep the boxes and instructions

Do not unpack everything in advance — parts get lost that way. Keep the boxes, the hardware bags and the instruction sheet (paper or PDF) together.

3. Check the parts

If you have time, confirm the kit is complete and undamaged. A missing panel discovered mid-assembly means a second visit.

4. Sort out access and parking

Tell me the floor, whether there is a lift, and where to park. For Tallinn old town or courtyards this matters — it affects timing.

5. Have power nearby

A free socket for the drill is enough. If connecting appliances, make sure water and electricity are already in a finished state.
